I can't remove "games" from my start menu.

I want to remove it so a new game will go to the "games" file, and not into programs. I was able to do this before. What gives? Also I have two "games" in my menu list, one has a playing card next to it. Never had that before. What happened?

Some games go into the start menu by default. You can remove files by going into File Explorer, but you may remove the game. You may be able to change the install destination when you install the game.

Thanks. I am still confused why I get a "cannot move this file" warning when I try to remove games from my start menu.

Sounds to me like the file is hard coded to stay in the start menu. What game is it?

Actually, I think another games file was created somehow. If I remember right, if it's on the start menu, then it doesn't appear in "programs" right? Well, I have "games" on my start menu, and "games" in my "programs" list. Each one has different contents. One file contains all my games like I wanted it too, and one file contains three only. Still confused.

Using a File Explorer (like Resco Explorer 2003) go to the Windows\Start Menu\Games sub-folder and you will see the three shortcuts (*.lnk 1Kb files) for the games which you want to move. Use Cut and Paste to move all three shortcuts to the Start Menu\Programs\Games sub-folder.

Then go back to Windows\Start Menu and delete the Games sub-folder.

Problem solved. Through Active-Sync, I deleted the "games" folder under "programs", and was able to move the "games" folder from my start menu. I then just re-loaded the games with the folder still off my start menu and viola! All is good. Apparently I loaded a game without first checking my start menu, and a new folder was created automatically. For thos into gaming, don't make my mistake! It caused quite some frustration. Thanks for the replies.
