Expert Advise Needed -- Activesynch Wireless
Need some expert advise after trying to solve this problem myself for past few weeks.
I can connect and synch via USB and IR but can only connect (not synch) wirelessly. When I attempt to connect wirelessly, Activesynch shows "connected" but after a minute or so I receive a "Connection Error" pointing to wcescomm.exe. Sometimes Activesynch actually seems to start looking for changes but stops before anything is synched.
Ideas??
Another minor annoyance is whenever Activesynch is initialized the Add/Remove screen always comes up without my selecting it within Activesynch.

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling activesync. I had the same type of problem and doing this solved it.:)

See if the instructions for wireless sync in the WiFi How-to (in Special links and also linked from my signature) are any help. If you have everything configured as described there, most problems can be traced to firewalls installed on the PC.

I've looked at all the "how-tos" and even reinstalled ActiveSync -- no luck. Again, I can connect wirelessly and ActiveSync actually begins looking for changes. Then everything stops and I receive the connection error message described in my original post.

I just noticed the 'add/remove' window problem. This usually is an indication that some program you tried to add did not complete installation. It may also relate to your other problem although not necessarily.
The wcescomm error sound like there is a problem with the activesync program itself on the PC, probably an interference from another program. Check Chris De Herrera's ActiveSync Troubleshooting Guide for suggestions.

"Add/Remove" window problem solved by simply adding another program. Thanks, Ike.
On connection problem, I am now able to wirelessly synch TASKS, but nothing else. (Again, I'm able to perform full range of synch activities via all other means.) I'll lick this sooner or later.
