Sam,
You're in quite a pickle there, my friend. I know, because I fight the good fight every day.
I emailed Pumatech about pretty much the same problem. Except that I rarely sync at home into Outlook.
At work, I thought I would be clever. I figured that if I used Intellisync to connect Notes R5 and my Axim, ActiveSync would automatically update Outlook with the changes to my Axim. A variatable three-way lovefest. Doesn't work.
The email I received back from their Tech Support stated - without apologies and in no uncertain terms - that Intellisync is designed to support only one PIM (Outlook or Notes) but not both. In fact, Intellisync, it turns out, uses Activesync to do its thing. This means that if you set ActiveSync to perform any tasks, that tasks - not the ones you define in Intellisync - will be carried out.
Now, even with their explination, I have encounted sparatic moments of functionality. However, after encountering the situation where I truly need something only to find that it didn't sync over, I've resolved to some "dirty" little tricks.
You can select a contact in Notes and copy the record. Then go into Outlook and paste it. This only works Notes -> Outlook. Beware duplicates.
You can export contacts as a vCard and import. This works both ways.
I haven't had any noticable problems with mail or tasks.
The end result is that I'm trying to find a truly fully functional syncing tool that will sync all three platforms at the same time with the same information. If you should find such a beast, please let me know.
-Tony
