Heart stopping moment

Carrying my new X3 in my back trouser pocket in its leather case (as supplied in UK) on getting it out to use appeared not switch on. What have i done?
Investigated and found screen brightness had been reduced to zero setting. Obviously turned on in my back trouser pocket and set to lowest brightness! (what are the chances of this happening)?

Solution do not carry in back trouser pocket and imediatley order Rhino Skin Aluminum Hard Case.

I've had something like that happen to me on occasion. I think there's something to do with multiple presses on the power button that defaults the brightness to low.

Just holding the power button down for about 3 seconds or so will dim the display.........at least on the X5.

I've had that happen to me a few times before on my x3i. And I tested what MrKlaatu said. Yup... held down the power button for about 2 seconds and the brightness dropped to the dimmest setting. Thanks for the insight.

Yes I have checked and diming can be disabled from settings/brightness menu. Thanks for your help on this matter.
