turn off screen in windows media player

map a hardware buttons in screen toggle in tools->settings->buttons and assign a button to screen toggle, pressing that button during play will turn off the screen.

I dont know how the moderators feel about this post being cross posted since it contains information that helps the newb's, but in the future you might not want to cross post just to be on the safe side.

what do u meant cross post? i posted in the x3 and x5 general forum because i am afraid owners of x3 will not visit the x5 forum and vice versa

Cos before I was using a program called Display Off to turn the display off while I was using it as an MP3 player!

I just hold down the power button for a few seconds and my light turns off.

The display is still chugging away using up processor power, though. Depends on how picky you want to be about power consumption.

Ahhhh... I didn't know that! With the small battery on the X3i, you gotta squeeze out every bit of juice you can if you want music for very long!
