Converting movies
What is a good program to convert full-length movies other than Windows Media Encoder and using Mpeg formats? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Here is a new program that is supposed to do it for you at HANDANGO. I don't know how well it works, but it has a free trial.

You can also do a search on this site for the tutorial on how to convert DVD's to .avi. It is pretty easy to follow.
