IE doesn't work well

well, as I have posted other where, my IE just can connect to my school homepage, but can't get to others like Yahoo, Google something. I am doing this at school, plugging in my wireless router to the school network, and wireless communicating my X3i to that router. That's it. Could anyone help me figure out why?

I just had this the other day. ^:^ Many thanksCould anyone help me figure out why?

Are you sure your wireless router is configured correctly (can you use it with any other wireless devices, or with a PC plugged into one of the ports on the router)?

Does the connection icon on the Axim show that you are connected?

What are the properties listed in the Dell WLAN utility? Open this, click more info... Should list your ip, subnet, gateway, etc...

Do you have the router set up with DHCP (both acting as a dhcp server, and getting it's connection with dhcp)? What happens if you try to browse an ip address rather than a name (eg 207.46.245.156 rather than www.microsoft.com)

Are you sure that your school web page is not "cached" from surfing it in the cradle - making it look like you have a connection when you really don't?

It actually sounds to me like your school is blocking web connections to external sites... can you access other sites on school computers, if so - have a look in the internet connection settings on those computers and see if they've been set up to use a proxy/cache server - it may be that you need to set these up on your axim to access the web (I'm sure that must be possible although off the top of my head I don't know how).

Sorry I need to clarify something

Actually at the very beginning (The first time I tried to use the wireless net) I DID be able to connect to the Internet !!! Just later after I installed four software, it stopped working normally, i.e. the wireless can only lead me to the school homepage, no other websites like yahoo.com ... That's why I feel wierd.

Now I have deleted all those programs and reset the x3i. Guess what? It goes back to normal now ... Anyhow, I still can't understand ... Be frank, I am tired of X3i ... 2nd time to piss me off ... :rolling:
