Couple of options:
1. Get a job & buy your own
2. Explain to your father just how bad it would be if you broke his.
3. Work a deal with your parents against your grades.
There is a fourth, but I'm not sure gaol (jail) is any place for a thirteen year old.
Hope you get your Axim.

You are missing the point. If you bug him enough to use his, then point out that it would be easier if you had your own....He might be more inclined to buy one for you.

That's quite a good suggestion, to compare them against my grades. Thanks a lot!

Bring up that computer literacy can be a boon for your education and future.
I meet many colleagues who are hampered by not being able to adopt new technologies.
I would much prefer my son was "playing" with a useful tool than a Gameboy!
im 15 and i bought my x3i on my own... heres how you get your parents to let you get one... say they say how are you doing... just say well im ok but id be better if i had my own axim... just say stuff like that and it works... thats IF you want to buy it yourself... if you need money from them then you are on your own
Just say to your dad...In this day and age we have began to implement such things as computers/pda`s/cell phones etc etc into our daily routine,we are getting more and more reliant on these products because absolutely anybody with a brain has one...."Daddy do you really want people to think we are the thick family robbinson?"...eheh but really just explain that it would help your grades because you can do homework on it and use it on field trips to collect data etc etc.... tell the truth.

Tell him all 13 year old kids have MP3 players. For just a little bit more he can get you an Axim X3i. A Dell DJ 20 is $249, a X3i is $297 "So dad you'll only have to spend $48 and I'll get my own Axim." If that doesn't work the next day when he comes home just tell him how much you love him and how lucky you are to have him as your dad.

No offense to you, but i don't think that what you said here makes sense to me. We have all kinds of technology in our house. I've known how to use a computer since i was 3 years old. So it won't really be a big help to my life if i have an Axim but i still want it because it will be fun to have. That's a main problem, my father will think that if it's just for fun, it makes no sense for me to have this. Although, i can try and just bug him to let me buy it, because i bugged him to buy me a Nikon Coolpix 4300, and i actually got it for Christmas, but i had to bug him for about 3 months for it .
