Am I suppose to get only this much?

My Axim 3xi has only 32 mb of built-in storage... Is this standard or did I get ripped off? I thought I was suppose to have 64 mb.

Do't know where you hail from and, in all honesty, I don't know if the specs are different around the world, but in the UK the X3 Standard has 32mb ROM & 32mb SDRAM.
Both the X3 Performance and the X3i have 64mb ROM & 64mb SDRAM.

Hmmm I haven't seen the advertisement that says "64MB Built-in Storage". I've seen the ones that say "64MB ROM" and "64MB SDRAM."

Part of the ROM is used by the Axim to store the Pocket PC operating system. Whatever is left over is available for you to use as extra storage space, called Built-in Storage.

Builtin storage is 'leftover' ROM. Since the operating system is stored in ROM & takes up about 30megs, the BIS should show as about 34.

Built in nstorage is what is left after the 2003 operating system is installed. So you have 64MB of storage . 32MB for operating system and aprox. 32MB for built in storage, and another 64 for running programs and loading programs. Which is 64MB and 64MB total on the x3i.

you should be glad you have 34MB BIS, most other comparable PPCs only have about 5MB (assuming 64RAM/32ROM).
