Question Odd problem with opening files

Sometimes when I go to Pocket Word or File Explorer (mostly just Pocket Word) and I tap on a file to open it... and it doesn't do anything. It just highlights the file as if it were a list box, then unhighlights it but leaves a border around it (the "highlighted but unfocused" box). And it just refuses to open the file. Double-tap, triple-tap, etc. Nothing.

Soft-reset solves the problem, but it's frustrating...

Sorry if this is an old problem, Search of the forums turned up nothing of use.

Just wondering....
Are the files stored on an SD or CF card? If so, it may just be a read/timing issue. This seems to be an issue discussed with some Sandisk products but never this issue specifically.
If Pocket Word has become unstable then a Hard reset might do the trick. Backup first of course.
Apart from that, the only other thing might be file corruption during pc to ppc conversion.

The files are in the "My Documents" folder, so that's on RAM I believe... correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll try a hard reset later today when I get home, thanks.

(It did this on my old X3 [which I returned due to a faulty SD slot] as well, so I'm suspicious if it's a bug of some sort...)

It might be worth updating the ROM with some of the patches on the Dell web site, see if this does the trick.
If it's a conversion issue, have you upgraded to AS 3.7.1? It's available from Windows Mobile.
You can have a My Documents folder in the BIS, the RAM and on your cards.
Sorry, out of ideas now. Need to lay down in a darkened room!

Well, my problem went away for a while.

It came back a coupla days ago, tho.

It's just some random thing. A workaround is to select the file you wanna open, then push the Axim's center Nav pad button.

Sounds like somehow you're engaging a Ctrl function - can you multi-select files? Is there any software you're running which offers a Ctrl action by tapping it? In GigaBar for instance, if I tap the MemStat icon I can do the same as if I tap Ctl on the soft kb.
