The little lock with a red bar..

Means I dont have access to the network correct? I am picking up a feed from somewhere in my neighborhood which I can connect to (the little arrows pop up and it says connected) but I cant use the internet. It's annoying because I can't stop my pda from "seeing" the network and trying to connect. I've disabled the box which states connect to any available network and it still pops up and asks me what the network connects me to "work or internet". If I click hide I have to deal with a tower icon on the top of the screen that flashes every once in a while reminding me that there is a network that needs to be assigned. Any ideas? I definately don't want to be connected to this network.

Is this network listed under the "Configure Wireless Networks" (Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Advanced (tab), Network Card)? If so, hold the stylus on it and select Remove Settings. As long as it's in the list, it won't matter that the "Automatically connect..." box is checked but removing it should prevent the attempt.

If that doesn't work, you might also try changing the channel on your own network so it is found first.

BTW, the reason for the red bar on the lock is probably because the network has encryption (probably WEP) enabled.
