Is Power+Reset button the only way to hard reset?

I'm starting to suspect that there's some button combination other than power button+reset button that hard resets the Axim.

Very frequently (around twice a week), when I take my X3 out of the pouch that Dell provided, the screen's on and it's asking me to press the Tasks button to hard reset or press the mail button to cancel.

The axim has never done this while on the cradle, where it is most of the time, so the hard resets should be from some combination of button pushes while it's in the pouch.

I don't see any way that the power button and the reset button could have been held down at the same time. This even happened when I had the super battery on the axim.

Maybe there's a bug in the Axim code (overflow maybe?) that hard resets the Axim if the power button's been pressed down for hours...

I have never had that problem, my X3i is in my front pants pocket in a leather case. The only reset combination I know of is the power+reset button on rear of X3i.

There is one other way for certain: take out your main battery and leave out for more than 30 minutes. Not recommended.

It's an interesting problem though: I know that I shouldn't ask, but you are turning the device off rather than suspending?

It might be worth checking that the Turn off device if not used for option is checked.

I have had 2 soft resets that turned into hard resets and I definatley was only pressing the back button. I have now learned the value of backing up! This has happened both before and after the ROM upgrade so that hasn't impacted it.

Good luck, Kevin
