New Axim X3i patch posted?

I just happened to stumble across
this new download at Dell Support just now for the x3. I didn't see any posts about it here, anyone tried it yet?

For newer X3i's?

I believe this is for the newer X3i's with Bluetooth. It mentions ROM A01.

I installed it on my x3i, since it's merely patches and not a ROM update...

And for some reason, now when I hit the power button on the front to shut my axim down, if I don't shut the wireless off first it stays on even though the unit is in it's standby mode.

How very odd.

I just ordered a new X3i, should it come with bluetooth or do I need to specifically request it?

I'm ordering in the US, so I guess I won't be getting one... Oh well, thank you for the answer though! ;)

I am not sure. I would assume that it would, you'll have to either go back to the page that you ordered it from or check the specs on the receipt for your order. I hope it does!! :D

Patch 77269.exe

Well I installed this 'new' patch, but I'm still reading ROM Version A00C(01280400EN), although the Dell site claims it is the A01 version.

Hmm, I had this "feature" already from the day I got my X3i. I probably don't need to "update"...

Did you also install the prior patch listed ?

"Install R71183 from Dell Support web site before installing this patch for the A00 ROM image users. How do you identify the A00 ROM? Start Button -> Setting, select "system" tab, select "system information".

Just tried installing the Patch. Have Ao0 and the required previous patch. system gripes about doing the install, and gave a pop up window. Which stated that a new rom image will be released in May 2004. Since the patch fixes were not things high on my list, I just let the install fail. Anyone heard more about the new rom image (I would hope it is 2003 SE)

This is the same error I received. You, nor myself, need this patch with our ROM versions. Based on the message, Dell will be releasing a ROM update for our models this summer (hopefully before they offer us the WM2003SE upgrade ;-). Fuhhgedaboudit!!
