Hmm Cannot get Axim X3i to connect

I am at my wits end.

We have a D-Link DI-624 router. The SSID is still set to "default", WEP is disabled, there is no MAC filtering -- basically it's still set to all the factory settings.

We have two laptop computers which are successfully able to pull IP addresses from the router using D-Link DWL-G650 network adapters. The Axim, however, does not recognize the wireless network.

We've been on the phone with Dell several times...and that's been worthless so...here I am.

I'm afraid that in our attempts to get connected we may have inadvertantly changed some setting somewhere.

Following some of the various other threads, here's how it's configured currently.

The ROM version is A01

Under "Configure Wireless Networks", I added a new entry call "default" because I am under the belief that this needs to correspond to the SSID. (Correct?) I have "Access only access points" selected and the "automatically connect" box is unchecked.

Under Network Adapters, "My Network card connects to" is set to "Work" and the Dell TM1200 WLAN adapter is set to "use server assigned IP address"

Under Connections, Select Networks, I have both Network Management settings set to "My Work Network"

Any thoughts?

Remove the connection you've put in called "Default" and check the "automatically connect" box... then cycle the wifi off then on, and see if it connects... if not, can't help you sorry, ask dell for a replacement - there are some X3i's out there that just don't work in this way.

Actually, your settings should work (it's exactly the way I just suggested making the settings in another thread). One possiblity is your Router. I'd try changing it to b-only. If that and the 'cycling the WiFi with the hardware button' doesn't work then it may require an exchange for a new X3i.
