New sound chip

Does anybody know if the x30 update got a new sound chip to get rid of the background noise? Thanks.

Yeah, this is one of the issues that stopped me from getting the x3i..

Perhaps someone who noticed the problem on the x3 and now has an x30 could comment?

This may have just been a problem with a certain batch of handhelds, but I know of 5 people that have this problem. Does anybody know if the chip was changed/updated for the new x30? Thanks.

Wasn't the entire chipset a new one? It'd probably be hard to check without busting open an X30, and I ain't doin that. ;)

For the record, my x3i doesn't have any background noise, even at low volume. Listening on my headphones on my desktop system produces more hiss, to be honest!

I remember reading somewhere...brighthand?...That Dell has claimed to resolved this problem. I'm not exactly sure where I've read this, so i cannnot provide any quotes. Even if the sound "problem" is'nt fixed, I wouldn't have it keep me from buying this device!
