X30 Combo or X5?
Hello---
Pondering this decision---keep my X5 or trade it in for the X30 combo for $249???
What are your thoughts? Which one is better? Is the screen resolution better on the X30?
Thanks in advance!

If you dont use the CF, DO IT!!!! however, if you do use the CF, wait and see if the VGA model has a cf slot.

The VGA is just a projected thing, it is by no means definite. Basically, its what im waiting for, but its not even on the table yet. If all you use it for is wifi, sell the card and switch. Thats my $.02, but you may want to get other opinions.

Think I'd agree with gsteinb88 on this one... if all you use the CF slot for is wireless, then there's no reason not to upgrade. However I guess there is always the "what do you want out of a PDA" question - is there anything you want to be able to do that you can't do on your current PDA?
The screen brightness on the X3 range (and I suspect the X30 has the same screen as the X3/X3i) is better than on the X5, but the resolution is the same.

How about the quality of the screen.
On my X5 if I look at it on portrait mode its great but if I try to do anything in landscape its dark on one side of the screen of the other, depending on the way i hold it. It clearly wasn't made to be veiwed that way.
Is the screen better for other viewing angles?
My Sony Clie' UX50 is a landscape device(made to be viewed in landscape) and if you turn it to portrait mode, it too has some dark spots that make veiwing difficult.
I know it wont be crystal clear and perfect, but I just want it to be comfortable to veiw in landscape mode in PIE

if you didn't switch from the x5 to the x3i I don't see that much reason to switch to the x30.
the x30 is the x3i with a faster cpu, bluetooth, and wm2003se. maybe less ram/rom depending on the model.
most people who refused to switch from the x5 to the x3i cited lack of CF and/or battery performance and/or the design of the device's housing - the x30 addresses none of those issues.

there is a slight polarisation issue with the screen in landscape mode on the X3(i) - I'd be interested to know if that's still there on the x30 which is designed to be used landscape... it's not bad, barely noticable apart from in certain light conditions, but certainly is there.
