Changing default folder locations

ON a side note to a previous post, is it possible to change the location that programs are installed to when you choose STORAGE CARD from a pc based installation routine? I would like programs installed to a \storage card\programs directory.

Sorry, didnt make myself clear.

While you can choose to install software to Main memory, Storage memory etc in the installation process, is it possible to specify the folder to install it, ie;

\storage media\games\game_here

or

\Storage media\program files\here

etc ??

At the moment, if i select Storage Media, programs seem to be installed in their own dir off the root, which is making it a) untidy b) hard to find things.

I've specified locations, I usually set up a generic "programmes" folder on my CF/SD card first and then just point it at the folder during installation and it works fine.

......mmmmmmmmm........can't do that with ASync. I'm guessing you must be using a 3rd party app, some of which will let you choose sync locations.

ASync only lets you chose Main Memory, BIS, Network, SD or CF location and then will only install to the root of each, (although I'm not sure about NETWORK, never tried that one). You just don't get any other choices after the initial location choice, it just starts installing to the root.

Other than a 3rd party app, things are just going to be messy, I'm afraid. Because you can't just move the app's files into a created Folder on the media, 'cause then the Registry on the Device won't be right.

Try searching AximSite with some relevant KeyWords and you can probably come up with a couple of those non-ASync syncing programs.
