Speaker is sufficiently loud, not exactly room-shaking though.

The X30 high is louder than the X3i. That's what I have noticed.

Well I got my X30 High today and it is soundly asleep for the next 8 hrs. for charge:) Im hoping that the speaker is much better than previous axims, because the speaker itself is on the back of the device like the x3...Will this be muffled if in a case? I know there is cases that has an opening in the for the speaker but being on the back is a concern for me. I guess I'll find out in the morning when my Ax is fully charged and I get home from working nights. Also for those of you that are still waiting for deliverly of your device...Mine was not due to ship until 6/18 and I recieved mine on today 6/3 and got the cradle yesterday.

I'm concerned about whether or not I'll be able to use my x30 mid when I get it because I ordered the cradle too and the cradle shows as getting here a day or two after the x30...does anyone know if you still get the cable that comes with the x30mid when you order the cradle?

Yes you get the cable with your Ax....The cradle is just that ,a cradle with an attached usb cord...You will be fine.

You can do that, but you will need to get another charge cable or pack around the one that comes with the Ax. For the charge cable plugs into the cradle and also plugs into the serial thingy, which is just an adapter.

Im actually concearned about this as well. I am 75% deaf in my left ear and about 25% deaf in my right. Things that would normally sound loud to others, are not to me. For instance, my cell phone ringer, has to be at the highest level it can be.
Hopefully I can hear the navigation. Well find out soon.

The fact that the speaker is on the back is what really concerns me.

I have the X30 High and use it with Bluetooth GPS.
With the Speaker on the highest setting its barely hearable over my engine and the wind/road noise with the windows closed.
I really wish the speaker was on the front. Or better yet how about 2 front mounted high quality speakers right above the calendar and home buttons and make the amp able to sent out greater vol. In the car with the a/c powering the X30 power/batt life is not an issue. How about it Dell?
