I wanted to get wireless access for my x30 but didn't know if was possible since it has no cf slot. I'm looking for a wireless card that I can use when I'm not near a wifi access point or bluetooth. I want something I can permanately connect to the interenet pretty much no matter where I'm at. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, I don't have a bluetooth phone and one of the reasons why I was hoping I could get the wireless card is so that I could drop my cell phone and do voip with my x30.
On the site, they're all listed as the x30...there are just 3 different levels of them that we call low, medium, and high. The low is the 312mhz, 32mb model for $199. The mid level is 312mhz, 64mb, and has built in WiFi/Bluetooth for $249. The high is the same as mid, except with a 624mhz processor and costs $349.

Ok, I'm a little confused. From what I can see, the X30's, all of them, do not support compact flash cards, which means the sierra wireless cards, or the sprint PCS cards, will not work on the X30's. the X5's however, look like they have that slot. Am I missing something ? It could be because I'm just completely spaced out and my work day is almost finished.
You're not missing anything. None of the X3's or X30's have a CF slot. Dell has apparently decided it's 'old' technology and discontinued offering PPCs with that feature.
AFAIK, there are no cellular cards for an sd slot.

I'm really disappointed that Dell seems to be dropping the CF slot.
It may allow them to make a smaller device, but the loss in expansion capabilities is too much.
I'm replying from an X5 with CF slot with a Sierra Wireless 555 Aircard adapted. I also have a Kingston PCMCIA 5GB microdrive. My next device WILL also have a CF slot...simple as that !

Chris...
i think i am with ya man, sdio accesories are few in numbers and expensive (since they are smaller)
my camera still takes cf and i love switching the cf card to my axim to view them on the 3.5" screen instead of the tiny one on my camera
i have a 56k dial up cf modem, wifi card, and a bunch of cf cards
i do wish the wifi was integrated but thats why i am looking at something like an e800 with a faster processor (like the rumored HP explorer, but then i dont know if i will be able to afford it )

"I'm not going to cover this in-depth in this review, but I should point out that this card works just fine with Pocket PCs. The disk that comes with it has drivers for both operating systems. "
