No, I sent it back(got replacement). Too many bugs. New one is somewhat better.

Love it, couldn't ask for more with that price tag.

Just got mine last Monday and, after learning how to download programs to it, all is well. It seems to be as advertised although I haven't worked with either of the wireless options yet. I hope to do that soon. But, the display is excellent in all lighting conditions, performance is more than adequate for my needs and the user interface is easy to work with.

I love mine. As a PDA newbie, I may not be as picky as the PDA veterans but I do know that my X30 doesn't freeze or have any major bugs. There are only small bugs to be worked out through the OS but that's expected for any microsoft software. Heck, I still run windows 98 and microsoft still comes out with updates. It's also good to know that if anything should go wrong, Dell will take care of me without a PDA ever leaving my side. That's hard to beat.

I'm happy
I like my new Axim X30. Except why did I have to pay for a USB sync cable? Although it did come with the battery charger. I bought the low end model for $199.00 (without wireless anntena and bluetooth). I got rid of the power problems by clicking off the power down buttons. Everything works well. I just installed new software for the first time and it went well - no errors.
I'm new to Pocket PC's. I don't understand why in the Memory program there is two different scales for memory management - one for programs and one of Storage (Free: 8.44mb) and Prgoram (Free: 11.44mb). Can someone help me out?
One more questions, does Dell sell a better battery that last longer?

Overall, I'm very happy with mine. I haven't really had any of the problems mentioned, save that msn messenger didn't work, then suddenly STARTED working. I managed to get around the sync cable being delayed/missing, and I lived through the initial delay in shipping.
Haven't tried the bluetooth yet, but I don't have any BT toys, so it's not relevant. The wifi works great. I'm about to divx a dvd, wifi it to my storage card (which is a 512 MB sandisk and works just fine), and see how the betaplayer works.
My battery lasts over 3.5 hours with wifi enabled, and almost all day with power profile set to auto and wifi disabled.
the screen is as white as I could expect a pda to be, transcriber's better than 95% accurate and improving as I learn to write in its expected letter shapes, even to putting words and equations within brackets. the sensitivity of the screen is consistent and very light touch is all it takes.
I like 7" lacquered copsticks better than the stylus, though.
YMMV, but I'm honestly thrilled with the machine for that price.

(now to get my boxwave screen protector (ordered yesterday) and decide on a good case...)

I've had several PDAs from Newtons, Palms, Blackberrys, REX among others. The Axim has not been perfect - no sync cable, slow to ship, etc., but i am extremely pleased with it. I especially like the simple, wireless sync with Outlook and good wifi connectivity. Great value forfeatures, size,& performance.

I've had several PDAs...this is by far the best I've had. Cord issue was really a minor thing for me...2 day delay in getting the PDA up and running won't ruin a couple years of good experiences with it if it continues to perform as well as it has for the past few days.

So far I like it but have not loved it yet. I've had quite a few PDAs in the past - Newton 120/130/2000, Palm V, Ipaq 3600 series, 3800 series and now this. My main reason for moving from my Ipaq 3835 to this was to gain the built in WiFi in a smaller unit. I have a Wifi card on my Ipaq but the unit is large with the expansion pack and gets tiresome after a while.
Now that I have the Axim, to tell you the truth, it's a little hard getting use to the smaller size. It's compact as I wanted, but feels a little too small in my hand. I've really only been using it for 2 days so I'm not casting final verdict as of yet. I'll tell you the unit is FAST, (X30High) screen great and Wifi works great as well. I have not had some of the problems others have listed in this forum. I am currently syncing wirelessly with my desktop as well as surfing the internet. Battery life also seems good with just the standard battery from Dell. Also the price point can't be beat. Right now the price for the X30 High is only $314! This simply kills the competition - another reason I went with this over another Ipaq. Again, I think the form factor is just something I am not use to yet. All my previous units were much larger.
Another item to note is that although several users are also experiencing application issues, this is fault of Microsoft and not Dell. Bets are if you were to acquire another unit from different vendor with 2003 you'd experience same problems. I have already encountered a few bugs but know this is MS OS related not Dell. I had a few on my Ipaq. We'll just have for updates from MS.
All in all - like it so far.

I've had mine about three weeks so far I love it but I'm just getting use to it. I'm having some issues getting a wire less hookup to my network. Again it is probably my lack of familiarity with the unit and the router.
