Can you voice record in MP3/WMA format?

The built in voice record files I am doing are pretty big and I need about an hour or recording ability. Is there a way to use MP3 as the voice recording compression format?

I was able to select GSM 6.10 8,000 Hz Mono 2KB/s but I was hoping to get the file a little smaller.

Any ideas?

There are tons of programs that allow you to do this. Just do a search on handango for "voice record in wma and mp3 format".

Here is one that I found. ;)
