Yes, the OQO runs XP. They are very portable laptops, but I would much rather have a PDA and a desktop, than a laptop by itself. I work with laptops all the time at work and I HATE THEM!!!! PDA's and Desktops for life!!!

I have a laptop but it never leaves my desk. I'm way too paranoid about lugging around something that is so expensive, breakable, and stealable. LCD screens scare the crap out of me.

Get a Fujitsu P5020D. I have the P5010D, which is pretty much the same, and it's fantastic.

Centrinos rock. I get almost 5 hours out of my battery light duty, meaning not DVDs or games.

As for PDAs as laptop replacements, never. Desktops, laptops, and PDAs all have their own forte. For a run across town it's the PDA. For a flight across the country it's the laptop. At home it's PDA in the cradle, laptop in the docking station and desktop controlling all (KVM and Pocket Controller).

Laptop is my prize winner though. I work from home so the laptop sits on my nightstand. I wake up, flip open the laptop and bam, I'm at work!
