A Love Hate Relationship

Thats right. I love the convenience of having documents, music, movies and data at the palm of my hand, but I hate the device that brings it to me.

I started with an 3xi and loved every minute of it. It worked flawlessly from the start, screen sensitivity was awsome, the system was stable and rock solid. I needed bluetooth for my gps and laptop so I decided to switch to the X30. Since the switch I have grown to despise my PPC. I don't use it as much because of all the problems. The screen is horrible and it seems as though its getting worse. Its like I am sticking my stylus into a jello jiggler. The numerous lockups, slow response time and just all in all trouble is leaving me unhappy. This is my replacement to the first X30. Maybe when I call dell today to get another replacement for my replacement, things will be better. Maybe not.

I can only hope I don't have to deal with these issues anymore as they do upset me. The screen on the pda is the most vital yet it fails in performance. Oh well, hopefully I can get a descent pda.

Thanks for listening.

Wow, this is very discouraging because I have mine on order. I hope I don't have the problems that you have because I want to keep this PPC for a long time (1+ years)

Honestly, all of his problems are his fault. He installed a third party app that is known to not be compatible with wm2003se, then B1tched like that when his ppc didn't work correctly. Just stick to compatible apps and you'll be fine save a few minor glitches in the new OS.

Here's the proof (something he said in another thread):

Quote:
Your not the only one having troubles. Ever since I traded my 3xi for the X30, I have had to reset at least twice a day for lockups or the like. The only time I reset my 3xi was after a software install that prompted me to do so.

It seems as though Pocket Plus has quite a few bugs/issues under WM 03SE. The screen does not refresh properly. The previous windows "shadow" remains where SPB is on the today screen. Some window X buttons disappear. Swithcing the SPB theme causes massive lockups to the point where sometimes a reset does not work. A hard reset is the only thing that works. Due to all this, I am not even going to try Landscape mode.

I have had to many problems to list and I am not happy. I miss my 3xi and its nice sensitive screen and its rock solid stability. However, I really needed bluetooth for my GPSs and Laptop. I will be calling dell today to get yet another replacement.

Hopefully this issue can be solved once and for all. Then again, I am very doubtfull.

I will be removing SPB pocket plus until a fix comes out to resolve these issues. I do love the program and did actually buy it. I hope they do offer an update/patch.

Umm, perhaps you should not put words into my mouth. That is another issue NOT related to this thread. Hence, why I posted there. I am bitching. Why? Becuause I don't feel I should have to put up with a crappy product/screen just because thats the way it is.

You have some balls to say I am at fault. Perhaps you should keep your comments to yourself because if I remember correctly, your the one that bashed WM2003SE and dell in a few of your other threads and said you gave up. Then decided to come crawling back.

Next time you decide to speak for somone else, perhaps you should be that person before you do so. Not ASSume.

My origional post still holds true. The X30 is horrible in comparison to the 3xi. Stop being a troll and do the work your boss pays you to do. :)

Thanks

lol...calm down buddy...you openly admit that you installed this program and it is well known that it causes the exact issues that you are discussing. And yes, I did bash dell's poor support base, but decided to try a replacement unit, which worked better. Now, you're scaring people who might want to buy one of these because you make it sound like the device just naturally has, "lockups, slow response time" instead of telling people why you have these issues.

Im not trying to scare anyone. The X30 is a good product. However there are issues that need to be resolved. SEPERATE issues pertaining to software (my problem) and issues pertaining to quality.

Even without SPB PP, there are still lockup issues. Not to mention the bad screen.

^^I haven't had any lockup issues, but I know what you're talking about w/ the screen, although my replacement unit has a good screen. With the x30 highs in particular, it seems to be hit and miss as far as the screen goes.

Wow, I feel so fortunate. I haven't had any of these issues. The X30 has been a perfect device for me.

If I could just get my replacement, I might be happy with it. As it stands, I'm still waiting on it (ordered 6/10)
