Axim Performance Questions

I'm going to make this similar to a questionnaire so please bear with the format.
1. Is Mp3 Playback good on this? Comparable to that of an iPod?
2. Is Video Playback good on this? Comparable to that of a Palm?
3. Are PIM applications quicker or slower than that of a Palm?
4. Do you feel satisfied with your purchase or do you think you should have gotten something else?

Your help would be appreciated. It would help me feel gratified with my purchase, and when I get mine, I will fill this out. Thankyou for your time

The sound on my x30High is great, real clear. You just won't have as much storage for MP3s depending on the SD card you get.

Absolutely klls Palms in this area.

3. Are PIM applications quicker or slower than that of a Palm?

I am not sure how fast the palm ones are but they come up right away when opening and do your tasks instantly.

MP3 playback is fine. As I don't own an iPod, I can't comment.

I don't see much improvement over the video playback on my T3. However, I am not really into videos.

3. Are PIM applications quicker or slower than that of a Palm?

Compared to my T3 (400 mhz), the X30 running at 624 mhz is about the same. If you leave it in auto mode, it will slow down to 208 mhz and will be visibly slower than my T3.

4. Do you feel satisfied with your purchase or do you think you should have gotten something else?

I've had my X30 high since 6/8 and have been waiting for a replacement since 6/10 so I haven't been able to fully use my X30 (things like the d-pad not functioning, the inability to scroll in PIE, the screen sensitivity, the too-low sound output). So if I ever get a replacement, I'll be able to figure out whether it was worth it. At this point, my answer would have to be no.

It works some, just not completely. Sometimes it works in PIE for scrolling, other times not. And the center button - sometimes it works (like to select things), but other times not (like when you enter the notes of an appointment - it won't come back out of the notes). I didn't know that it was defective until I was talking to a long-time PPCr about it. I asked him if there was any 3rd party software to improve the functionality of the d-pad (coming from Palm, there's a 3rd party solution to everything) and that's when I discovered it wasn't working. (He has a X30 mid)
