I have narrowed down a couple things that control this. It is software based. The button is just a physical "shortcut" that activates the software link. However, I am having some difficulties finding the actual file that controls both wirless items.
Those of you who have the X30 with WIFI ONLY and NO bluetooth, can you be kind and pm or email the file to me? You have to find the file that is linked to the button. If you need help with this, please ask. Usually in the windows directory, you will see a folder called APPBUTTONS. This should be the location to the *.lnk (shortcut) of the file. It may be called WirelessPower.exe . I want the file to test and see if I can set the button to that file. Basically, it would activate WIFI ONLY and bluetooth will be manual until I can get into the actual file and edit it. If thats even possible.
I dont think this will work, Im pretty sure
the X30 and X3i have different wireless
cards, so the programs that start them
will most likely be different...
But I am on the same quest as you, and hopefully
can work something out soon.

Looks like you'll be coming out with a program soon!
I can change everything about the EXE, but I can't seem to find out what files it is pointing to, to load. Any ides? Basically, all we have to do is go into the file and seperate the instructions that load both BT and WIFI at the same time. So, instead we make two seperate files for each one.
Oh, I would also love to test this if possible. I've been looking for the same thing and have been playing with Vito Button Mapper to attempt to auto-shutoff Bluetooth. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful. Love to test your solution.
This is a CAB file,
Copy this directly to your Axim and run it..
then you can goto 'start - settings then buttons' and
you can map any button to "WiFiPower".
Disclaimer:
!!USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
This is a modified version of Dell's
"WirelessPower.exe"
This will enable/disable Wifi ONLY and leave
Bluetooth, as is.

I ordered my x30 high a couple of days ago and have been reading these boards with interest but seeing the work youve done on this spurred me to register and post :)
I'd thought that having to turn BT off after turning my wifi on was going to annoy me and to see that someone has taken the time to code up a workaround is excellent!
cheers again!
here's hoping it works once I get my unit
oh and here's hoping I dont get a rubbish unit like some people have been reporting....
