Activesync needs reboot

The problem I am having is that each time I try to sync my X30 mid, I have to reboot my computer for syncing to begin. Is there a setting I must change or something?

Thanks

Probably need a little more detail. Like what happens when you start the sync, does it just hang? Any error messages? What happens after you reboot, it just starts synching on it's own or do you put it in the cradle after a fresh reboot? List the steps you're going through.

Hi,

I am having the same problem with an X50. It will only connect after rebooting my PC with the X50 in the cradle.

I bought two X50 from DELL one for the wife which she has connected to her laptop and does not have a problem with.

When I connect my X50 to her laptop and my cradle it works fine.

So from deduction there is something fishy going on with my PC.

I have read numerous forums - saying to diable the enhanced USB controller and plug the cradle into a self powered USB hub which I purchased.....none of which have worked for me.

I have updated the ROM on my X50 using my wifes laptop but still no successon upon connecting to my PC.

I also have found that the wifes X50 successfully connects and syncs via WiFi but mine with all the same settings does not.

This leads me to believe it is not a USB problem such as low power or disabling the enhanced USB controller but more like a communications/initialisation error caused by my PC on hot connecting of the X50.

I have rang DELL support but due to the lack of common sensne the so call techo argued that was definatly some thing wrong with the X50 and wanted me to send it back.Just couldn't fathom that it actually worked on my wifes PC without a hitch....Derrrrrrr.

I am on a quest to find the problem as I think it will be an easy and obvious fix.

CheersBigEars. I will report back hopefully with success.

Try reinstalling the software and then rebooting your computer. Then if that doesnt work backup data then hard reset.

If iy works on your wife's computer then I would check to see if you both had the same Versions of the sync program and I would uninstall your sync program on your PC and reload the program using the disc your wife used to load on hers. This will at least eliminate a few more variables
