Mugen Battery Doesn't light cradle charge indicator

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything; not sure if this has been discussed before.

I ordered a Mugen battery as a spare and it arrived today. I plugged it into my X30 cradle and the charge indicator light did not light up.

I took the battery out of my Axim and placed in the secondary slot in the cradle and the light did light. Then, I took the new battery and put it in my Axim; it charged normally.

Therefore, my new Mugen battery charges but does not drive the indicator light.

Question: Is this normal behavior for the Mugen battery vs. the Dell battery or do I have a defective battery in some way?

Seems funny that the battery would charge properly if there was something wrong with it.

also, I just swapped them back (out Dell battery back in the unit; tried to put the Mugen in the secondary slot in the cradle) and the Mugen does not seem to "seat" properly in the cradle; it "pops up" just a little when I insert it, perhaps enough to break contact with the connector. However, pushing it down in the cradle does not cause the indicator to light.

Anyone else experience this?

When installed in the Axim, the back is not entirely flush with the back of the unit (just ever so slightly) - is this normal?

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I found that by experimenting with different angles and amounts of pressure, that the battery would eventually "seat" properly in the cradle. Now that I know this, I can get it to work every time.

This is what the person that I purchased it from said:

"We've noticed this too. If you press slightly on the battery and lean it forward a bit it clicks into place and will charge fine. It is because there is a 1mm thicker wall on this battery."

I found I had to apply a little more pressure than I had originally expected to get it to snap into place.

Now it works fine.
