What would you do? Venting frustration

My Digitizer broke. I am 3 days into hold with Dell, and just found out, after I was told 3 times I could get the part I need, that I cant. I was told i could only get a refurb. Send my Axim back, get a refurb for $159.00

OR.....

I could get a $150.00 screen and digitizer aftermarket. I am leaning to aftermerket just to keep Dell from getting anymore of my business. This customer service experience has really put me off. Its like nobody knows whats going on, or really even cares.

If you buy the aftermarkey, you hvae the problem of installing it and causing more damage. ALso, w/ the refurb, you should have a warranty again...The biggest thing you should do is buy CompleteCare if you can...it's only $19 for 1 year and covers broken screens too.

Also, don't forget that if you get a replacement pda, you can sell your old one for like $30 on ebay, making the refurb method cheaper.

In order to get the refurb for 159 he has to send the other back.
So no extra money form there.

You are very welcome man.

Imho hesaias, just forget about the refurbished unit.
Save the money. Sell all your X5 gear and make as much as you can and wait for the new Axim to come out. It'll probably cost more but hopefully it'll be much better and you start fresh with a state of the art technology.
What's the point of spending 150 bucks in a 4 years old pda.
If you really want to take your chances and take advantage of the gear you may have for X5, then go on ebay or wait for the right opportunity in the classified. You can find X5 as cheap as $110. For 150 you get at least an advanced model with case ad a few extra. But NO warranty...

Thanks
My Axim is an X3i, not an X5. Its 2 months old. I just paid $300 for it 2 months ago.

What really ticks me off, is that Dell is unwilling to sell me the part I need. They have my $300, and want $159 more

I keep it in a leather case, also from Dell, so I'm not sure.
