Guess what's sitting on my desk since this morning ?
.....exactly, my brand-new Axim X30 High (German) !

It took almost a month for it to arrive:

Ordered (online): June 24, 2004
Order confirmed:June 29,2004
Order shipped: July 16th, 2004
Order arrived (UPS Standard): TODAY ! (23.07.04)

Time from Pre-Production to Shipping: 12 working days
Shipping took 5 days! (Ireland-->Switzerland/Europe).

Side notes:
- The Online Order Tracking was always not up to date.
- Dell Customer Support in Switzerland is crap
- The Label on my Axim box says "540 MhZ", but i checked and it's a 624......thankfully....

I checked the device quickly, everything seems ok so far.

So, enough with complaining, after all, it's here, on my desk, charging it's heart out....

Question: I need the device tonight for a meeting, but unfortunately, i will only be able to charge it for about 6 hours instead of the recommended 8 hours.

Will that be a big problem ? I plan to charge it after the meeting for over 12 hours........

Anyway, for all you people out there who still have to wait for their units: Hang on, it's well worth the wait!

Have a nice day !

Chris

Oh, and sorry for "yet another "it's here" topic, but i just could not resist in spreading the joy ........hope thats ok

I charged my X30 battery for 6 hours (had to remove it when I left work for home) and was never happy with the charge the Ax held. I got a replacement and the new one was no better, maybe worse, after 16 hours of charging. All this is to say I don't think missing the two hours messed mine up, I just think the X30 sucks the life out of batteries any way you look at it.

The X30H only has about 3 1/2 hours of battery life.

Jcl, if you're asking me, I had the standard battery and with wifi running it might last two hours. Since then I got a Mugen 2000mAh battery.

I'll fly to the US next month, and i want to use my Axim for more than 4 hours, especially if i want to watch a movie or play games.
I don't know what power connectors are available in airplanes (i fly with Delta), so i don't count on beeing able to charge during the flight.

I do have a special "Connectivity Kit" for the Axim that consists of a cigarette lighter power adaptor, a usb sync and charge cable and a standard Axim Power Supply.

I think the only solution will be a Mugen 2000mAh battery pack.

MEF38 has a special offer going until the end of the month,
so i think i try that.

Heres the link to that Topic:

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...threadid=44222

But still, does it matter if the initial charge of the battery is only 6 hours?

Thanks for you Replys

haha.. i never even gave my x3i an initial charge... i couldnt wait. i just used it for a few hours while it was plugged in, then left it when it was done. everything is fine, though, and i get a great charge and run time everytine (at least as far as x3is go LoL)

He's carrying a soldering iron!’ and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, ‘That's right, it's a soldering iron. The soldering iron of justice.’ Then everybody would get real quiet and ashamed, because they had made fun of the soldering iron of justice, and I could probably hit them up for a free drink.
