Odessey Client

What is the Odessey Client and how do you activate/use it?

It is the new client for Wi-Fi/ Bluetooth connection in 2003SE. It is used by default. The better question is how can you NOT use it.

So if your BT is disabled you are using Odessey?

I have been told, and had personal experiences (problems) that indicate whenever you turn on Wi-Fi via the button on your axim your bluetooth turns on by default. This way it can run down your battery for you.

So do you activate Odessey to save your battery from BT or is Odessey always active?

Sorry, sarcasm relies on tone, something that doesn't carry well in type. It is always active by default, you have to turn it off each time.

Do not forget that Odyssey Client is a software base to add security and ease to connect wirelessly. If you turn off BT and WiFi it will be off by default.

Funny, cause I used to connect with NO problems. With the new helper I get issues.

I finally hard reset and it found my network but when I chose Internet it would connect to my network but not allow internet access. When I changed to "work" it allowed file browsing and internet through same connection.

I still don't understand it. Sorry. Is this right. Oddessey is the program that Wi-Fi and BT use to run? If this is so, why are there 3 applications for one program? I don't know if I am phrasing the question right either. I am just trying to understand the technology, but some of it might be beyond my abilities to comprehend at this time!

Ok, so so far I get the feeling that no one really knows what this does, is, or how to set it up.
We are not allon since the Dell Tech could not clearly define it either.
I got something like, ďt has to do with the wireless communications or something.
I connect without setting up the Odessey Client.
I still (now going on a month) dont understand its usefulness, or reason for being on my unit.
I hope someone ca shed some light on this.
Thanks... This is my rant...

I'm not touching it! I will leave well enough alone so I don't have any issues!

Oops!

From my Today screen, I just push the wi-fi button; after it connects, (still on my Today screen) I simply tap the BT icon & choose "Turn BT Off". I then open Internet Explorer & I'm on the web! I've seen Odyssey but haven't touched it.
