WM2003 SE is defaulted to disable clear type when
you rotate the screen, that hack enables clear type on
rotation... Typically MS should of made it a setting accessible
by any user but they left it out...
Cleartype it self just 'smooths' out fonts
to make them easier to read ... for some people...
Not everyone likes cleartype.

When I turned on my spangly new X30 High, the first thing I noticed was how BLURRY the screen was. Little did I know that by default that Cleartype is turned ON in 2003 SE. I immediately turned it off and am much happier. Cleartype is like running 75hz on a TFT display that is only designed for 60hz. That's the kind of blurring it is to me... yuck!
Yes, you need 3rd party software. I use Advanced Explorer. I got it from Handango and it's on sale for $2 right now.
You can also check www.freewareppc.com for free registry editors but I've never tried them.
heelixx: Thanks for the hack.. I thought it fixed the problem and made it possible to switch from the options tab like it should. Sounds like this hack only turns it on or off after a reset.
No problem.. I always like digging into the registry and experimenting - I've probably soft-reset this thing fifty times in the past week. lol. Btw, I use PHM Regedit and it works great.
Help.... When I try to connect to the internet, I get Page you or looking for cannot be found. I was told I should get the patch from silent knight? I have tried to find the download but can't. Can anyone help?
