Bleh you ever heard of when PC in their early days, the "100% IBM compatible" stuff? kinda like the same thing. As long as it was designed for Intel ARM/Xscale processors, it should do

It doesn't do the one thing that would make me buy it, connect to my webmail. If it did that it would be worth the price, without it it's just a memory hog as far as I'm concerned.

Yah and it tends to lag the hell out of your PDA. So in other words it suck. it makes any PDA seem like is running on 20 mhz.

I have the exact opposite opinions:

(1) Installs completely to SD card, so no memory is used ... cache is stored on SD (again no memory)

(2) Uses a little more system memory when running compared to PIE (I wouldn't call it a hog though)

(3) Is much faster at rendering than PIE (The startup nag screen is annoying however)

(4) Has numerous enhancements (too many to mention) that make it a more robust browser.

(5) It is a little overpriced however. (I purchased a while back at a discounted price).

Obviously my opinion. Just amazed how different the opinions
are.

Whatever makes you happy . . .

Me too, I love it. I don't use it all the time, but when I know that I will be viewing sites not optimized for the PPC, I use NF. As far as it being a resource hog, this is true. But, if you install the app to SD card, you will be fine. Also, I soft reset after a NF browsing session to reclaim my main memory space. Any app that you launch on the PPC does not return all the memory that it uses, so soft resets are inevitable for improved system performance.

If you are going to be doing alot of browsing, it is a worthwhile investment. It is a very advanced browser, and a pleasure to use. Unfortunately, they do not have a trial. It is, IMHO, by far the most advanced and best browser for Windows Mobile.

Yes, I use PIE, FTXP, and NF. FTXP is a must have since it is free! Offers tabbed browsing and some other enhancements that PIE Lacks.

ftxBrowserftxBrowser is good. Netfront does use a lot of space for caching, but you can minimize that to 512KB if you don't run off SD. NF is great if you do not have an x30 since pIE has a One column mode that is like NF's Smartfit. Some tabs in a horizontal layout on certain sites are maintained that way and that text is unreadable in NF, while in pIE, they are converted to a vertical layout that is readable. There are a lot of improvements to pIE on the x30 wm2003se from x5/x3i wm2003. If you have SPB Pocket Plus, it adds an icon to pIE so you can get multiple windows on pIE and flip among them.

I never thought about the Landscape mode with NF. I saw somewhere that a newer version of NF is in the works, hopefully to address SE issues.
