Sync with Lotus Notes

I just bought an Axim X30. I've read most of the posts regarding syncing with Lotus Notes.

I've installed Activsync and am able to copy files to the Axim. I've downloaded and attempted to install the Cadenza mNotes trail version but get an error msg that "the system could not find the device or file specified". I downloaded and tried to install Intelisync. I get an error msg "1607 unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime".

I understand I need mNotes so Win Mobile 2003 can read the Lotus, but still don't understand why I need both Activsync AND Intelisync. I'm not real thrilled with the thought of having to spend $70 for mNotes and another $70 for Intelisync after already spending a bundle on the Axim.

Isn't there another way to do this? I'm seriously considering sending the Axim back to Dell and dusting off my old daytimer.

When you want to use CommonTime mNotes, you need te install ActiveSync first and then you need to install mNotes.
ActiveSync you got for free with you X30.

O yeah, it's also a good idea to read the manual. :)

I installed the MS Outlook connector (the April 2004 version) to Lotus Domino. Using Active Sync I was able to get my work calendar into my new X30. I get my contacts from my home computer. Here's the problem.

Calendar runs slow and eventually locks up. This occurs as you switch from monthly, weekly & daily views. When I'm in the weekly view I can see appointments. When I switch to Daily the appointments do not appear. I start to ADD a new appointment but tap OK before creating a new appointment to get out of the Add Dialog. It returns to the Daily view and voila, my appointments appear. If I change views and go back to Daily, they're gone or it locks up.

Any comments?
