X30 + cellphone with infrared port

Is there a way I can ALWAYS have the internet at my disposal? I read somewhere that the IR port ont he x30 can communicate with ones that are on a cell phone.. i have an NEC 525, and it has an IR port on the side. I also have the itnernet/data plan from AT&T and was wondering if it were possible to use the phone as a modem or a medium to send data back and forth so i can browse the internet?? does anyone know? sorry if this sounds confusing lol. thanks for the help!!

Yup, just used my Nokia 6310i to connect my X3 to the web. It's a little slow so you may want to hunt out mobile friendly sites. In the UK (I think you're in the US) you'd also need a dial-up (pay as you go) account and that can be a little pricey!

Yup, you set it up in Settings, Connections (tab), Connections (icon) and select Add a new modem connection

On the second (lower) dropdown box select Generic IrDA and then press the Next tab and complete the requisite details.

ah ok, i dont have a dial up number i can call tho :( o well, maybe if im that desperate, ill use my friend's! lol
