Internet.... ( again )

Just writing in again guys about the internet. I still can't connect and it's getting disapointing. It either seems like it's so easy or people can't connect at all. My main concern is connecting "outside" of home. Does anyone know if there is a problem with the internet explorer installed on the Axim ?? Should I try and download a different web browser ?? First I couldn't connect, then it said connected, but I can't access because I have to check my settings. Any simple tips for an Newbie Axim user to go through and set up internet connections ??

At home I have DSL with a 2Wire system. I'd mainly like to connect while on the road. ( obviously if I can pick up a signal )

I have found that for some reason the Axim doesn't like to take all of the info from the router. So what I do is this. I usually will get an ip, so I take that, and then manually enter in the info into the Axim including DNS as the main problem! Be sure the DNS is an actual IP from your service provider and NOT a 192 from your router.

To find this, plug the connection directly into your desktop. Or something I found that worked extremely well was

*******A drum roll because this took some smarts to figure out*****
I entered the DNS into my router to always use the set IP and BAM!
Axim connects and now works like a charm!!

So an easy solution to a troublesome problem.
Test it out and let me know.

Did this work?

Did this solution work for you? I'm having issues with my X30 with a 2Wire router also.

Make sure in Network Card Configuration that you are set to connect to "The Internet" instead of "Work". "Work" is only used if you want to Activesync or network, while "The Internet" is used if you want to use Internet Explorer. I guess it's Windows Mobile's idea of a firewall, crude yet simple.
