When you go to Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications click on the Notifications tab. The first thing you'll see is Activesync: Begin sync. Make sure the play sound box is checked and a sound will play.

I already tried that, but to no avail...even checked the box and rechecked it and soft reset..but still does not work.

It's not a bug it's a feature. It might "bug" you but MS built it that way.

Why did they put in a check box to turn off the flashing light if they built it that way?..lots of people are trying to uncheck the box to disable the feature, but it does not work ..just a thought.
