Contacts & Calendar

I am sure this has been answered many times but I have been up since 2 this morning playing with my new x30(h) and still can not figure this out.
This is my first time setting one of these things up so please be kind.

Bill

PS--did get my e-mails transferred though :)

I don't see a question in there. What do you need help with?

You're going to have to provide a little bit more information.

Where specifically is it failing? What have you tried so far? How is it setup?

I am to the point where after I try to sync I get message that
"sync status is on device. Do not know what to do now to have contacts and appts show up on Ax.
Hope that makes sense.

Do you have an extremely large number of contacts/appointments in Outlook?

"sync status is on device" is not the real error message. Can you tell me what the real message is?

Also can you confirm that this is through the cradle, not BT or Wifi.

Help. I have been attempting to Sync my Ax30(h) for a while now and keep getting message that Calendar, Contacts, tasks, require attention.
A page pops up and states conflict is due to 2 folders that are named-- c\program files\microsoft and the other c\program files\microsoft office.
It states I should rename the c\program file\microsoft without
using the word "mircosoft"
Does this make any sense to you experts out there?
Syncing thru cradle.
Any help Greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

What would really help is if you could attempt the sync and write out the exact error message word for word. Thanks :)

HI Howard,
Thanks for attempting to help. This is the first PPC I ever had.
Just called Dell Support (didn't have to wait for too long), got a Great support person who walked me thru the whole process and now up and running.
:)

Awesome, good luck with it. They can be complex machines and I'm still learning new stuff with them. In no time you'll be using it like a pro I'm sure.

Thanks. My next challange is to figure out wifi connections. Went to Borders the other day and tried to get on line from there. What I did did not work---but will figure it out when I have the time.
Thanks for following up with me.

What happend with the "Sync status is on the device" problem?
I have it on my X30 and use two PC's. (Home & Work)
I have two folders in my contacts on the Work PC, but PPC shows only the main contacts folder.
Any Idea's how to set for both folders. I did reinstall the partnership on the work unit.

I believe you'll need a third party utility to synch subfolders in your contacts. Activesync doesn't natively support this, it will only synch contacts in the main folder.

Thanks for the information. I did discover that the sync for Outlook is one dimensional. I have since tried several vendors and intellisync seems to be the only one that truly works. :activesyn
