how do you get it to play avi files?

I use betaplayer in Powersave mode, and I can watch Spiderman perfectly

well, I know it doesn't need it but I put in another vote for Betaplayer!
I'm running .04 stable,but it sounds like it's worth upgrading!

Just installed Betaplayer and i must say I'm impressed... :approve: I have been a long time user of PocketMVP since I got the Ax. But saw this thread and thought I'll give this a try. Right from the start, I definitely see a speed increase. I don't think I will be going back to MVP anytime soon. :) btw, I'm using the .91 Unstable version.
Only 1 complaint. How can I get the timing of the video to show up? in PocketMVP.. when you scroll there's an area where it indicates time. Any idea? thx in adavance.

Another vote for Betaplayer,not only that the author(s?) frequent this forum,lol.
To get it to play .AVI files and other types automatically you need to go into options and select which filetypes you would like associated.I like the idea that it doesn't associate every file type automatically.I suppose upon install it should associate AVI tho.

Can you stream a video from your deskto w/out skipping with betaplayer? or does this happen w/ every program?

Are you able to just 'map' a network drive. Browse it and run the file?
My axim arrives tomorrow (x30 h), and this is high up on the priority list ;)

What i did was i copied the video from my pc, and pasted the SHORTCUT, not the whole vid, into my documents on the axim. to do this tap and hold the video in the shared docs from the axim on the pc, and select copy, then go anywhere in the axim (file explorer) and tap and hold and select "paste shortcut"...ive done this before and it has worked, but i cannot get it to work with betplayer...

use network path in opendialog like \\pcname\share and browser out your movie file. i will check what's wrong with shortcut.
