Thanks picard.
I will stick to stable for now, I don't have that many mpegs either.
But it is a great addition.

Still working with the 0.9 version, with the WMV add-ins. I watched all of "Waiting For Guffman" this afternoon (a WMV I created with DVD-To-PocketPC a while ago). Worked perfectly.
Do you like DVD to PPC as a program for compressing movies? I use Dr. Divx and as long as my file sizes are large (400 mb), the movie on Betaplayer looks awesome. If I go down to 200 mb, there's a lot of pixelation from Dr. Divx. I'm considering DVD to PPC if I can compress the file more w/o loss of clarity.
Please advise. BTW, I love Betaplayer. It is so much better than Pocket MVP.
There is another one DVD to PPC, I think that one is Studio, there are total of two actually. One is much much better than the other, but I forgot the names of both.. Anyway, try PocketDivxEncoder 0.3.50 it works well as long as there were no encoding problems with the original file.
And it is very fast for Divx to Divx compressions & conversion. ;)

I just thought of this. If DivX 6 ever comes out, will BetaPlayer support it? Of course, there's probably no way to tell at this point, but I know very little regarding codecs... Or will it be a "closed format?" Or again, is there simply no way to tell?
One more thing, my friend gave me this little cartoon clip in something called "3iv2" format, and it plays ONLY on BetaPlayer...is that supposed to happen? What is 3iv2?

i don't know much about divx6 yet. divx5 uses the iso mpeg4-2 standard. i don't think divx plans to create it's own video format.

on desktop you will probably need to install the mpeg4 decoder of http://www.3ivx.com or manully change the fourcc code of the movie file to divx or dx50 (same iso mpeg4-2 video standard)
There are number of hardware players that support divx/xvid. Changing of standars would render those without firmware capabilities useless.
It would probably just increase compression, and allow better settings to reflect on the output. Other than that, 3-4-5-6.. as long as they use the same logic to compress, i am pretty sure all players would support it.
Beta player should be able to handle that, being that now it handles all formats fairly well.

This site gets better and better. Since I got my Axim X30 yesterday I don't think I have left this site. So Much Information! This is a great media player! Thanks again AximSite Users!
Um, what is "less rotation tearing?" I read about it somewhere, and its in the ADVANCED tab on bPlayer. I think I read this thing is very beneficial to use, but don't know what its good for, really. Can someone, ya know, elaborate a tiny bit?
