WIFI and Hotspots

Hi
I've tried to connect my x30 mid (with builtin WIFI) to a free hotspot, but alas no connection .....is there anything else I should be doing ?
1. Enable WIFI
2. start\settings\connections - Odyssey client
3. Tick connect to - <any>
4. Commands\scan

Help .... as I need to see if the problem is with me or the X30 !!!

Don't know anything about Odyssee, but try this:
Make sure you have a good IP address from your current environment. Go to settings->Connections -> Dell WLAN ->Advanced ->Network Trouble Shooting -> Click Repair to establish an IP in your environment. This method always works for me.
