Need help selecting a Today Plugin

I've been having trouble with SPB Pocket + (or so I think, see this thread ), so I am looking for a replacement.

The ONLY function I want it to perform is to have battery/memory indicators on the Today screen, and to have the "close" button actually close the program.

I downloaded Battery Pack Pro, and imo, it stinks :realmad: I found Pocket + easier to customize, and far more user friendly

Anything else out there that is close to Pocket + ?

Sprite premium comes with a battery/memory monitor plugin. To close an application, you can use something like wisbar, which is free.

Wisbar Advance 2.x - Still in beta, but very stable. I believe it's in final stage, and will be ready for prime time soon.

In fact I'm using WA 2.x right now with no problem...

Of course, I also have Spb Pocket + in there with no problem.

Hmmm...

I wonder if my problem isn't with Calender + and/or Quicktasks.... but one of the plugins I am using is seriously bad mojo.

It isn't the hardware (I've changed Axims and SD cards) so I guess I'll just have to troubleshoot this the old fashioned way: trial and error / install and uninstall.

I hope it isn't SPB as I really liked it.

Gigi: Thanks :approve: Btw, I love your tutorial on Managing your Today Screen! Well done.

NoWire, does wisbat advanced 2.x allow you to use themes or is it like pelmar where you have to change each icon separately to get the look you want? I am using version 1.4.2 i think right now because it allows theme file to be added but if i remember 2.x doesn't when i tried it. Do you have link to download?

Thankz

Hey HighTymes, if I understand your question correctly, then the answer would be YES. The program comes with a *.skin files and everything is in one package. Although, it's still possible to manually set the icon for your own taste.

Here's the direct link for SE

Here's for PC2002

Here's a screenie:

ICbar and WisBar seem to lock up my Axim.

Are there any other alternatives? BTW, currently, I'm using Batery Pack Pro and it's just junky- loads a lot of junk on my Axim, huge, occasionaly causes lock ups and kinda ugly, IMHO.

I tried both Pelmar Wisbar and Wisbar Advance and both seemed to not work so well. I wanted to try the wisbar advance beta, but being new to my axim, I have no idea what to do with the .cab file that is available. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

To install a .cab file, jusy copy it into your Axim (any place is fine, but remember the location) and then tap on it and it will automatically install.

[QUOTE=akerr]I've been having trouble with SPB Pocket + (or so I think, see this thread ), so I am looking for a replacement.

Have you contacted SpbSoftwaare about your problem, they have very good and pretty prompt support?

sort and to the point.

My own personal experience:

SPB, sprite, Wisbar etc. left me quite unsatisfied.

I use and have been using Trancreative's magic button for almost a year. It has a small footprint (uses little memory and other resources), has close "x" option, and has battery meter (very small vertical bar just to the left of the close/minimize "x". Have experienced no problems or crashes as a result of this software.

ps. It is freeware :)
