SkypeOut Now Works!

There is a new version of Skype for PocketPC, which has fixed the 'buzz' problem. I just installed it to my Axim X30, and called to my wife (to a phone, not to a computer). Both could hear each other clearly. She thought I was calling from a landline. So, finally, SkypeOut is working! :)

Yeah works great. Tried it earlier today. I wish there was a feature to import your contacts to you skype contacts though.

Ooops! Answered my own question!

There is a new version, just released TODAY Sept. 17! v 1.0.0.14

I'm going to uninstal the older version and try out the new one. I'll report back my findings. Wish me luck. :approve:

Asd one of the more vocal critics of skypeout I can wholeheartedly confirm that the newest version of skype works much better axim to pc and finally works axim to phone. I can't hear what the quality is like on the other end but I was told that it was not as good as a cell phone but functional. I will have to do a skypeout vs stanaphone shootout this weekend.

Axim to pc is still not full duplex if you start talking by saying " ahhhhhhhhhhhh" the other person can talk and you won't hear anything so it's somewhat like the the nextel walkie talkie thing but it is still functional. I also think that one of the bigger problems, latency, has been fixed in this version.

Whatever the result its good to know that it finally works.

Sandy

I have the same question. I was trying out the Axim version and my boss had the pc version. On mine I couldn't conference call?
