Icbar/WIS Bar freeze on X30?

Hi all, I saw Icbar/WIS Bar and was interested because of the cascading Start menu (I hate the default way PPC does it). However, after I installed it and started it up, it looked a little strange on my PPC, and when I tapped the menu button (not the Start menu but the menu for Icbar), my Axim froze and I had to soft reset.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what might cause it?

Thanks.... Joe

It was a great app but it doesn't seem to work with any WM2003SE devices. Hipefully we will see a compatible version soon.

Oh, I didn't realize it was a general incompatibility with WM2003SE. Is the X30 the first Axim to run that version of the OS?

Wisbar Advanced 2 beta works great on my X30 and supports WM2003SE.

Nifty!

My only question is: where do you get new themes for Wisbar? It only has one (don't like the colour). The Lakeridge forums talk about people making them, but can you just download them? How do you make them?

Edit: Oh, just Google it :) Found this place so far http://www.pdagold.com/themes/list.asp?tp=10

I guess I'll Google how to make them too :approve:

go to lakeridgesoftware.com and on the top click forums. There is forum where people post their themes.
Currently I am using the macos panther theme. I hate Apple but this theme just looks so damn good.

If all you are really looking to cure is the menu... have you looked at spb Pocket Plus? It lets you put you program shortcuts on tabs on the Today screen... as well as a host of other good things. :)

To really take advantage of the cascading menu goto file explorer and goto windows---start menu---programs. Make new folders in there called like communications, system, games, etc and then take all the shortcuts in that programs folder and put it your new folders. This will eliminate the need to scroll when using the cascading menu. Now you just hit programs then tap multimedia then tap betaplayer

I've been using SPB and just tried this Wisbar. The new Wisbar rocks. I'll use some of the capabilities from SPB, but I'll use the new Wisbar for all it's worth.

Thanks for the heads up.

Mike
