Better "Find" tool for Axim to do word searchs?

One of the most useful features on my old Handspring Visor was its "Find" tool. It would take me directly to the "word" I was searching for within the document or file. I used this feature constantly. One way I used it was to look up definitions of acronyms (hundreds of them) I had stored in notes dcouments. It would take me to the line within the document that defined the acronym.

The Axim "Find" tool only goes to the document or file containing the word being searched for! Then you have to manually search for it from there!

Is there a search tool available that I can install that will work like the "Find" tool on Handspring Visor?

Sorry, didn't read your question carefully. The apps I mentioned only find the files with the text in them. Like Howard2k said, after the search is made, you need to open the file and use the associated app's find comnand to get to the actual text.

I would still search with an engine. Who knows...

There are many for the PPC.

My old favorite was Tascal Search (which I believe is free)

I now use the embedded search option in Resco File Explorer.

A search engine will probably find a dozen more.

If free, Tascal Search would be my recommendation

It varies by application. Acrobat's find feature is good for searching in PDFs.
