Synchronizing Outlook Exchange and Axim - Error code "0x8004010f"

Hello Gurus,

I am perplexed about the following error when performing a wireless synchronization. I can't synchronize between my company's exchange server and my Dell Axim 30 and get the error "synchronization failed. Try again. Error code 0x8004010f"

1. Wireless synchronization worked between Exchange and my Dell for about about a week. No problems.

2. I have one message in my Pocket PC INBOX which I can't delete or open (by using a double-click). This messeage is deleted on my server. I am guessing I can't sync because of this email. I was able to delete and move all other messages in my INBOX.

3. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Active Sync 3.71. Same problem.

4. Tasks and addressbook is fine.

My hardware is:

Dell Axim 30 600mhz, 64M
Windows Mobile 2003 2nd edition, version 4.21
Active Sync 3.71
Outlook 2003 client on my PC

Any suggestions or assistance is appreciated.

Thanks.

Danny

I had the same symptoms, though I don't believe I had any stuck mail. I fixed it by the following magic process. Probably only one or two of the steps was actually required:
1. Reset the PocketPC.
2. Re-enter my password in desktop ActiveSync configuration. (Tools | Options | Sync Options | Server Configure button | Connection button.)
3. Open up ActiveSync application on PocketPC and click the Sync button.

Try re-naming the inbox, soft reset and it should be created again, move what you want back to the inbox, and delete the renamed inbox.

Synchronizing Outlook Exchange - Error code "0x8004010f"

Danny,

I get the same error and have a piece of unmoveable, undeleteable mail, too.

I have softbooted the handheld, set ActiveSync not to sync the Inbox and then reset it to sync the inbox, and cannot delete/rename the inbox on the handheld. How did you solve your problem?

Thanks,
Charlie

PS: I did a hard reset (UGH!) and set the handheld up all over again. Now it's fine.
