Better way to transfer files to X30?

Just got my X30 the other day, shipping is super fast:)
Today I tried to transfer a 150MB wmv movie to it via USB craddle, it took forever to finish about 30% and then started over again, no error message at all. Do I have to use card reader in such situation? Because Activesyn seems to convert the files, not simply copy them. If I use card reader, it's just copy. I am using Kingmax 1GB SD, no problem with the maps and dictionaries I loaded to it. Thanks a bunch.

SD Card Reader for the PC

Get an inexpensive external USB card reader and transfer files this way. This is the best way to go, especially with files of the size you're describing. It will be much less painful :)

I still don't see how people have these problems? Are you guys just dropping the file into your X30 my documents folder that active sync makes on your desktop and then syncing up with active sync and having it transfer the file over? Or are you connecting through active sync and then hitting the explore icon and finding the folder you want and copying it over?

Transfer rate also depends on your card and how fast it is. Some cards are faster then others in the X30. For fast speed a USB 2.0 reader is best.

What is the suggested way of copying a file. Dropping it into the MyDocuments folder or exploring from activesync?

The progress bar starting from the beginning does not mean the whole thing started over...for a few 50mb+ files I've had it do that, and it just finishes before the bar hits 100%. File is still there.

It is dirt slow, tho :rolling:

trust me...u dont want to copy and paste thru activesync thru usb with that kinda of file size! it will either get drop or crash ur pda.

when i copy a mp3 file like 3 or 4 MB thru...it seem to take foreva! foreva like 5 min. strange it was never this slow with my toshiba pda...maybe some defective bug with dell usb sync. when i copy it thru wifi...it's a lil bit faster. when i use my card reader to copy a 120 MB file..it only took 2 or 3 mins. invest in a card reader if u are planning to transfer those kinda file size...card reader are pretty cheap now a day...what $10-$20?
