How to prevent a problem from occuring on new axim???

Hi guys...

Not too long ago I posted about how my built in wireless stopped working. Luckily, I have a month or two left on warranty and will get a new one in a few days.

I wanted to get all your advice as to how I could prevent the same thing from happening.

Apparently, the ROM was corrupt some how, and thats why, even if I reset, it would not fix the issue.

With that said, what could I do to prevent the same thing? Was it a program that I installed? Was it because I restored to a backups too often???

If this be the case, I guess I should not restore my new axim with an old back up? Despite the pain of installing all the programs again.

Or was this problem I had just random????? and is there nothing I really can do?

I know im asking alot from you guys here, but the reason being; its seems like you guys know more about this stuff then the Dell Tech Support themselves.

what MrK was saying, in a more abbreviated fashion, what that you should not restore from your old backup.

if nothing else, you will get a nice clean instal by installing everything on a fresh new device (perhaps refurb in this case).

there will always be some units, with any product, that are going to be lemons. even dell will put out a non-functioning unit out of several thousand shipped.
