I have a Axim 30/624, and I've been able to connect to wifi networks like hotspots, it recognize the network automatically, but at home it says searching and just changes channels, I talked to Dell and they say that it might be the router, I use a D-Links DI-624, anyone with the same problem? Thanks :approve:
I had the same problem with a linksys. I first tried changing channels, which worked some times but not reliable. Then updated the firmware on the rotor and fixed it. I still have to reset it from time to time but its not like its a Cisco rotor. If you have a few extra dollars its worth the money, but harder to configure.
Jusr bought a Dlink 624.
Make sure long preamble is set, it is not by default. Also double check you are not in G only mode. Now, with an open network you should be set. It is the long preamble thing that gets most people.
For WPA, I can only get it to work when both Dell WLAN and Odessey client are configured and running together, but it works great; I'm posting this from the third floor, and the router is on the first. Stick with the Dlink. Let me know if this helps.
What is a personal certificate? On my axim, it keeps saying that " Warning: Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you." WTF? It was working yesterday and now.... grrrrrr...

Superslim7> The channels should match the AP. So 1-11 are ok in North America. The non-overlapping channels are 1,6,11 and these are the most commonly used, but the key thing is that it must match the AP.
Ziabis> Have a read of this page http://wifi.aximsite.com and then create a new thread letting us know how far you get.
TechnoGuy> Is it the Dell Utility you want to disable or the wifi? Can you elaborate? You actually want the Dell Utility to stop working?

I have a X30 that I just got 2 days ago. Was I surprised when I turned on WI-FI and it found a website giving me traffic conditions.
But when I got home, it was clueless in accessing my Belkin 802.11b wireless router.
But I am clueless in where to start in how to access the router.
Suggestions?
