Any way to make P.I.E. use an automatic proxy configuration script?

I already know how to manually configure proxy settings for PIE in the network connections, but I'm wondering if PIE can be configured to use an automatic configuration script. One of the places that I use my little Ax for wifi uses an automatic configuration script. I tried putting in the values manually into the proxy settings but the server just rejects the connection.

So... anyone know how to make PIE use a configuration script or is it just not capable of it? Can Netfront or other browsers do scripts?

I have the same question. Off-campus access to university library electronic journals requires automatic proxy script configuration.

Help?
