Many companies have the ability to take serious action if you're trying to circumvent their network and security policies. I'd be aware of the possible impact before doing anything.
I would ask the IT guys first.
If that doesn't work then I'd guess you out of luck. You can configure proxy settings (though you don't say if you're using one) but they will not be applied to things like Outlook etc.
EDIT - Looks like you're an IT guy - so maybe ask your boss instead :) I've worked in IT and find that companies are often more flexible when it comes to IT people toys :)
